 I enjoy painting, drawing, and any other activities that allow me to express my creativity, which includes decorating cakes.  I have been decorating special occasion cakes and wedding cakes for the past three summers at two different bakeries. 

 Needless to say I love every aspect of weddings, and this years amazing atmosphere at Kim King Smith Events continues to thrill me a little bit more every single day! I hope to own my own wedding planning business some day.

Marci’s love for Ryan glowed on her gorgeous face; making her a truly radiant bride. She was so excited to walk down the aisle to Ryan and become man and wife.  

I have to admit, as soon as the church doors opened and the music began, it truly took my breath away. As Marci and Ryan said their “I Do’s”. Kim King Smith Event’s staff was at the Scottish Rite’s Grand Ballroom finalizing every perfect detail of their enchanting reception.

The ballroom was decorated in sapphires and silvers with hints of fuchsia in the dramatic floral designs. The centerpiece chandeliers delicately held candle light and crystals. The entire ballroom glowed. Oh, and I can’t forget to tell you about the Cinderella Glass Slipper at every guest place setting that housed a sweet treat for family and friends.

Marci and Ryan danced the night away and then escaped into the night to live happily ever after!

When buying meat, look for these types of meats or key words that will lead you to a healthier options.

• Poultry: Skinless, white-meat chicken or turkey. Also try ground turkey for delicious turkey burgers.
• Beef: Flank steak, top loin, sirloin, porterhouse, T-bone steak and tenderloin; 90% lean ground beef are all good choices.
• Pork: Pork chops or tenderloin are the best.

There are also simple ways to cut calories in your staple cookout side dishes such as pasta salad. In your recipe, swap out the cup full of mayonnaise for some or all for a flavorful vinaigrette, pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, Dijon mustard or lots of fresh herbs. If you favor the traditional creamy texture, a combo of mayonnaise and low-fat yogurt has flavor with much less fat. Not only will your pasta salad be better for you, but it will also be a new recipe to try.

For dessert, fruit is always the best option. It’s light and delicious and something everybody wants after a full meal. Strawberries, blueberries and peaches all reach their peak midsummer. Make a fresh fruit salad, or throw heartier fruits like pineapple and stone fruits (like peaches, plums and nectarines) on the grill to bring out their sweetness. Serve them with frozen yogurt or syrup.
