An Earth Friendly Floral
As I was
reading another blog, (at Kim KIng Smith Events we are constantly researching new trends and ideas for you) The Ritzy Bee, http://ritzybee.typepad.com/my_weblog/ I remembered an idea and floral I love. A great way to be earth friendly and unique is to consider succulents for your wedding or party. These hardy little plants can take lots of action, little water and remain perfect. I love their many soft hues. Fab for your party or event, they now can even be rented. Yes, used again! How eco friendly! Look at these great photos for ideas from The Knot, http://www.theknot.com/, Martha Stewart, http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/ and Kojo Designs, http://kojodesigns.blogspot.com/

Patti Stanger, The Millionaire Matchmaker
If you are anything like me, you may find yourself gazing into the television screen on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the well-liked American Idol season. No matter how much I despise what Simon Cowell says to the contestants, it always excites me to listen to each song and simply guess what he might say. However for all of the Simon fans out there, I’m sure you are also aware, and think highly of “The Simon Cowell of Dating”, Patti Stanger, The Millionaire Matchmaker.
Just to fill those of you in who are unaware of the reality show, Millionaire Matchmaker, on the Bravo TV Network, Patti Stranger is the host and the main individual to thank for finding the love of many individual’s lives. Working with each client on an individual basis through each step of the dating process, from the initial meeting through the marriage proposal, Patti incorporates her one-of-a-kind personality, humor, and harsh honesty to make the show interesting.
The Millionaire’s Club currently has over 30,000 women available for its members, catering to male and female members all around the globe. Millionaire’s Club’s contemporary approach offers a complimentary membership to women, working closely with leading psychologists, relationship counselors, date coaches, hypnotherapists and image consultants, as well as with a variety of top-notch personal trainers and hairstylists.
Whether a bride meets her groom with the help of a professional matchmaker, a friend or family member playing the role of matchmaker, or the old-fashioned way of two paths crossing, relationships may be a lot of work at times. But nurturing the relationship is what makes it more rewarding and in the end we are grateful for the man of our dreams that we marry, no matter how we were set up! At Kim King Smith Events we love meeting your “Mr. Right: and seeing you “live happily ever after”.
Though many of us former and future brides may wish we were/are millionaires, most of us will have to settle for just a few of Patti’s inside tips. Here are a three of her suggestions for women in search of “Mr. Right”, who happens to be a millionaire:
- “Eat at a steak house”, because men love to eat steak.
- “Retain Anonymity”. Go out to the restaurant by yourself, bring a good book, and then smile his way to signal him over.
- “Be receptive”. If he gives you his number and asks you to call him, then follow up; but if you don’t feel comfortable doing this, then beat him to the punch line and make him do the work.

God Bless Our Troops and Their Families
Here is a book that I think you all will love. FAMILY PRINT is true insight into the challenges our brave servicemen and their families endure. Please read the formal press release courtesy of www.prweb.com:
Army National Guardsman Major Timothy Stoner, commander of Indiana’s first Black Hawk unit in Iraq, and his wife Tiffany chronicle their journey into and out of war. Stemming from the blog established as their primary means of communication during wartime, FamilyPrint: A family’s unique reflections during war, tells the story of this family of six.
Zionsville, Indiana (PRWEB) October 27, 2009 — Trading wingtips for combat boots and managing four children under the age of six, Tim and Tiffany Stoner transform their difficulty into an experience of graciousness, growth and gratitude. homecoming.
Not only does FamilyPrint depict this candid wartime experience with words, but also via the breathtaking photography of Nathan Rowe, who beautifully captures the agony of separation and the utter joy of coming home.
Indiana’s Governor, Mitch Daniels says, “When a National Guardsman deploys there are truly two people at war: the soldier who goes to fight the enemy and the spouse who stays behind to face, in many ways, an equally difficult task. Tim and Tiffany Stoner’s new book is a useful reminder of the debt we owe to both members of any National Guard Family.”
Author Tim Stoner has returned to his position as the director of the infrastructure and security practice at a consulting company. He remains an active soldier in the Army National Guard.
Author Tiffany Stoner is Chief Home Officer of the StonerSix. In addition, she works part-time for Accenture and owns her own photography company, Nathaniel Edmunds Photography.
FamilyPrint is a nonprofit organization assisting the families of veterans deployed overseas. Striving to support both the soldier in harm’s way as well as the family here at home, FamilyPrint offers programs that assist with the outbound and inbound transition of the soldier, childcare support during deployment, financial assistance for families in need and care items for deployed soldiers.
The coffee table style book is expected to release shortly before the holidays. To place pre-released orders for the book, visit http://www.familyprint.org
Thank you to all of our servicemen and their families. All of us at Kim King Smith Events are very proud of you. We hold you in our prayers!

Kentucky State Bridal Association Meeting: Kim King Smith Events Speaks!
Last week Kim had the pleasure to travel to Belterra Casino for the Kentucky State Bridal Association meeting. Kim was the featured speaker. “Trends in 2010″ was the topic of her speech and power point, informing bridal consultants on the newest and best trends for weddings this year. In case you haven’t been there, Belterra Casino is fabulous! The Honeymoon Suite and guests rooms are to die for. The chef is amazing and the facilities for a destination wedding are just what you have been looking for. I am ready to return to Belterra for a little R&R. Many thanks to our hosts Rayna Ortwein http://www.alwaysplanned.com/ and Leona Morelock http://www.leonamorelock.com/ both very successful bridal consultants in the Lexington area.
The very next day, Kim was a speaker for the Indiana Association of Bridal Consultants meeting held in Columbus at the very chic Hotel Indigo (you have got to see it…..so hip and fun). Consultants from Chicago, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana all gathered to learn the very newest trends for 2010. Kim spoke about her experiences at The Special Event Show, an international event seminar in New Orleans this month and the best trends for 2010. Hostess was Jeffersonville planner, Stephanie Isbell http://www.plannedperfection.com/.
