Alli and Colin
Alli and Colin make me smile! They were so happy, so sweet! We were delighted to assist them with their wedding, It was urban chic at its best. Held at the marvelous Mavris Center, it had a lot of urban elements we loved. The loft hosted a very intimate and sweet ceremony, the rooftop a fun and fabulous cocktail hour with the reception being clean lined, urban chic. We won’t forget the lively dancing and laughter, the gorgeous palette of fuchsia, lime and cornflower, the streams of electric blue lights, the dear families and friends or the bright lights of the city shining down on this very special couple.
Tie Up Your Search for Guys Gifts
I have to thank my friend Hans Gehrke from Chicago for his idea for this post. He told me about this great site and product. I just HAD to share. These collegiate ties from Vineyard Vines www.vineyardvines.com are just the right gift for the new student, the devoted alum or the sports fan.. Look no further! These ties will make a huge statement as your favorite guy steps out. What a win for you, the shopper, and for the lucky guy on your gift list!
Consider the college themed wedding too. Wouldn’t it be great for the groomsmen to wear these and/or give them as a groomsmen’s gift? The possibilities endless.
The Bouvier Bag aka The Jackie O Bag by Gucci
Recently when visiting Chicago, I visited the Gucci Store www.gucci.com to see what was the newest and latest. Perched on several shelves facing fashionable Oak Street was the Bouvier Bag, now known as the Jackie O Bag. The clerk told me the history of this bag. I thought it was interesting and thought I would share it with you. After researching, I found this information and thought you would like to read it too. I loved Jackie’s classic style and it was fun to learn the the history of this bag. Which one of the bags do you like the best? In case anyone has my name for Christmas, I will take the grey one.
“We can count on Gucci for styles that we love now and later. Gucci is always in front the cutting edge of fashion and wins countless applause for their master pieces. It has been named in top 40 songs since the 1970s and is frequently mentioned in hip-hop music where material goods make or break status. For style-conscious women everywhere, owning a Gucci purse, Gucci wallet, or a pair of Gucci sunglasses is the ultimate status symbol.
Gucci possesses an inborn sense of creativity and innovation which has produced numerous stylish and eye-catching handbags. We can make quite the fashion statement with the Gucci handbag we choose to use. Gucci handbags are not only renowned for their high quality materials. Their suave style offers elegance and luxury, very suitable for ladies who want a timeless glamour, not a flashy trend. Perhaps the most famous icon of this house of fashion is the Jackie O. shoulder bag which was worn by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis when she was the wife of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. While mentioned Jackie Onassis, people often associate the classic handbag, Gucci Jackie Bag with her.
The classic Jackie O. shoulder bag is made of top quality leather and denim with jacquard double G pattern and a unique metal push/slide closure. Gucci recently launched a brand New Jackie Bag. New Jackie O. shoulder bag is more variation with a distinctive color like jewel green, wine red and deep tan. I like the tan leather new Jackie bag so much. It features single adjustable strap with woven detail. A wide shoulder strap ensures it will sit comfortably on your shoulder and the interior is fully lined with a contrasting silky material. The sheer size of the bag means that it is plenty big enough. It is perfectly elegant for holding all your daily essentials. Available in some fantastically bright colors for the spring and summer season this is a bag that will get you noticed for all the right reasons, glamour and elegance. This new large Jackie shoulder bag comes with Gucci controllato card, Gucci care card, and Gucci logo dust bag. If you own this Gucci handbag, you are definitely part of a worldwide fashion powerhouse.
The founder Guccio Gucci opened a small leather store in 1921 in Florence, Italy. Guccio exhibited the same talents his father possessed, making functional pieces that reflected his exposure to European designs. Since then, the brand has developed into one of the world’s most esteemed fashion houses. Nowadays Gucci Company is more competitive than before. Owning a Gucci handbag like the classic Jackie bag would be your best choice.”

Black and White Affair
Hilary and Dustin were such a beautiful couple. Childhood friends, athletic star, cheerleader; paths that crossed. Then it happened; they grew up and fell in love. How romantic, how sweet!
Their wedding vision was one of beauty and elegance. This is exactly what they received. A black and white theme with touches of fuchsia that was stunning. The ceremony was held in Hilary’s family church with well wishers and an outpouring of love that was hard to imagine. The church was decorated with specialty votive trees that glowed and twinkled. The aislerunner was adorned with all the flowers and petals Hilary had cherished and saved from Dustin’s bouquets to her. The service and the music were beautiful and touching.
The reception was rich in elegance. Specialty lighting, gorgeous linens in satins and brocades, and tablescapes with floral grandeur were all part of the Scottish Rite setting.

The spotlight was definitely on Hilary and Dustin all night, but especially as they danced their first dance. Hilary’s gorgeous dress flowed like a princess, while Dustin looked like a prince!
Attendees LOVED the specialty favors of Oreo truffles, a great addition to the black and white theme too.
The guests received some added fun and the couple a grand finale as they all gathered to bid the couple good fortune and farewell. Each guest was surprised with sparklers! A tunnel of well wishers lined the steps of the Scottish Rite with firey sparklers to light the city lights and the couple’s path to their getaway transportation. Hilary and Dustin we wish you the very best!

Cinderella Shoes
Marci and Ryan
Marci and Ryan could you get any cuter! Marci came to Kim King Smith Events with an inspiration of a Cinderella themed wedding and what Marci wished for, she received!!! Marci’s day was magical from the very beginning. She was so calm and relaxed, with the aura of a true princess!
Marci’s love for Ryan glowed on her gorgeous face; making her a truly radiant bride. She was so excited to walk down the aisle to Ryan and become man and wife.
I have to admit, as soon as the church doors opened and the music began, it truly took my breath away. As Marci and Ryan said their “I Do’s”. Kim King Smith Event’s staff was at the Scottish Rite’s Grand Ballroom finalizing every perfect detail of their enchanting reception.
The ballroom was decorated in sapphires and silvers with hints of fuchsia in the dramatic floral designs. The centerpiece chandeliers delicately held candle light and crystals. The entire ballroom glowed. Oh, and I can’t forget to tell you about the Cinderella Glass Slipper at every guest place setting that housed a sweet treat for family and friends.
Marci and Ryan danced the night away and then escaped into the night to live happily ever after!
Thank you Marci and Ryan for allowing us to be a part of your magical day!
