Some Favorite Polishes

Polish:                                                   -OPI Bubble Bath or Oh So Glam!: $8.50

Tips from the Pros

Beth at Dolce Salon and Spa in Carmel recommends manicures every one to two weeks and pedicures every month.  One of her favorite colors for brides is OPI Bubble Bath.  A very soft natural color with just a blush of pink, it is a gorgeous compliment to your bridal gown and flowers.

Other tips include:  taking your own manicure kit with you to the salon, always file in one direction, keep hands moisturized, wear gloves in the winter or when using chemicals and always have a top coat handing for a freshened up look.

Beth suggests using Solar Oil on your nails whenever possible.  Since it is a moisturizing oil, brushing it on just before a meeting or evening out will give your nails a sensationally healthy look.  Remember to use it before going to bed at night too.

Kassidy

Kassidy Galbraith has been interning with Kim King Smith Events now for over a semester.  Our partnership has grown and developed through many events and tasks.  Kassidy is majoring in Tourism, Convention and Event Management at IUPUI.

She has to have one of the best work ethics and personalities I know.  Well rounded, Kassidy is head life guard at Donner Pool in Columbus, works at Bath and Body Works, goes to school, and knows how to have fun. Luckily, she enjoys my love for basketball too!

I think her most daunting experience this summer was attending catering camp in Wisconsin.  This is a required course of study for all Tourism, Convention and Event Management majors.  Kassidy and her friends learned how “easy” (ha ha) the catering business was.  Seriously, it is hard, hard work with a lot of time and manual labor involved.  After hearing some stories, I don’t know if Kassidy will go into the catering business now, but I do know that she will be a superb event and wedding planner one day!  We just love Kassidy and wanted to share her with you!

Bryan and Stefanie

Bryan and Stefanie how do we even begin to put your wedding into words! The love this couple had for each other was evident from the early hours of the girls getting their hair and make-up done to when the last song was finally played at their Spanish Garden themed reception.

So to provide you, the reader, with even an ounce of how marvelous this day truly was, not only for Bryan and Stefanie, but for Kim King Smith Events, I am going to give you the spectacular details of their wedding day.

The ceremony took place at St. John’s Catholic Cathedral Church in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. The bride, Stefanie, walked down the aisle to the entry she had always dreamed of; the famous Sound of Music song, “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?” (We were definitely clapping and cheering in the back!)  As the two heavy, wooden doors opened and the bride proceeded down the aisle, Bryan’s face lit up as he looked at his gorgeous, bride, seeing her for the first time.  This was just the beginning of an enchanting evening they would never forget!

After the ceremony, Stefanie and Bryan were greeted amongst family and friends with a “never ending tunnel” of wedding wands ( yes, we make them!) and bubbles as they exited the church and into their getaway vehicle, or should I say limo! They drove throughout downtown Indy taking stunning pictures while Kim King Smith Events was finalizing every detail at the incredible Indiana Roof Ballroom.

Guests were greeted at the ballroom with cocktails and a personalized bottle of Spanish Olive Oil, which also served as their place card.

When Bryan and Stefanie finally arrived, they, along with their guests, enjoyed an evening under the ballroom stars amongst a garden of imported Spanish blooms that dazzled in the beauty of candle light.

Can I say more? Yes, but I won’t! I will let you now view these breathtaking pictures of a truly breath taking day! Thank you Bryan and Stefanie for sharing your day with us!

Fabulous Pool Party

Have the urge to host a fabulous pool party your friends will talk about long after it’s over? Kim King Smith Events has the ideas to help transform your backyard into a beach barbecue party quickly and at an affordable price. Make sure to tell your guests to wear flip-flops, swimsuits and sunglasses and to lather on that sun block before arriving. You can use a child’s sandbox in the backyard to create sand castles and other beach-like figurines and your own beach towels to cover any chairs you have set out for your guests. You can also easily decorate the tables with seashells or fish nets that you have from home. Try using sandbox toys like plastic pails or shovels to serve hors d’oeuvres and drinks in. Serve hamburgers, hot dogs, and corn on the cob to represent the classic barbecue foods, but also make popcorn and snow cones to satisfy your guest’s cravings.  If you’re having the party in the evening, you can also try putting tea candles in mason jars and lining them along the side of the pool for an added glow.          By Laura
